Here are some commonly asked questions!

What is the shelf life of chocolate?

  1. Solid chocolate (molded items like logo bars): up to 12 months
  2. Chocolate Truffles: 4-6 weeks
  3. Gourmet chocolate (all other chocolates that we make): 6-8 weeks

How do I store chocolate?

  1. A cool dark and dry spot, at room temperature in a temperature-controlled room (AC in the summer), away from heat or direct sunlight.
  2. Do NOT refrigerate (chocolate will condensate and absorb savory fridge odors)
  3. You can extend the shelf life by double-bagging chocolate and freezing for up to 3 months.  Thaw at room temperature for several hours before unwrapping and serving.

When is my chocolate made?

  1. We make your chocolates very close to the fulfillment date that you have chosen.  Even if you order months in advance, your chocolate will always be made fresh right before we ship or you pick up!  Ordering early helps us with adminstrative tasks, so we do ask that all holiday season orders are placed by November 1st to help us process order data ahead of our busiest months.

What are order lead times?

The lead time varies by order volume and season.  Below are some quick references:

  1. November 1st: deadline for all orders that are to arrive anytime before Christmas.  Deadline to receive a volume discount on all orders. 
  2. 4-5 weeks: lead time for ordering a new custom chocolate mold and branded chocolates.
  3. 1-2 business days: lead time for standard orders of 1-5 products.
  4. 2-3 weeks: lead time for event favors or bulk orders.
  5. Call us at 216-226-4888 for rush orders.

What are volume discounts?

  1. Volume discounts are available to all standard orders of chocolate with a product subtotal of $500 or more.
  2. They are available for orders placed online (in this order portal) between January 1st and November 1st.
  3. Custom orders, chocolate molds, branded packaging, Chokolatine products, shipping rates and orders placed between November 2nd and December 31st do not qualify for discounts.
  4. Spend $500 - $1000 and receive 5% off
  5. Spend $1001+ and receive 10% off

  1. You can create a custom chocolate mold with your company's logo or message!
  2. Custom chocolate mold quick facts:
    1. One-time set-up fee starting at $225
    2. 4-6 week lead time
    3. Multiple shapes and sizes available
    4. No minimum chocolate order required
    5. Branded chocolates can be packaged individually for trade shows and event favors, or can be inserted into various gift assortment boxes found on page 4 of our Business Gift Guide.
